Barbara was saved at an early age and a member of Young’s Chapel Church. She was employed at Signal Knitting Mills for 29 years, went on to Southeast Community College and became a secretary at Claiborne Hospital before moving to Johnson City to Nanny for her grandson that she loved so very much. If you knew Barb, you knew her smile was the first thing you saw. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was the mom to many kids during Amber’s school years. She loved her family and many friends that she kept in contact with from high school. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles of any kind, walking and helping her daughter around the house. Barb was also a Nanny for other families after Abram went to school.
We want to thank JCMC for the amazing care she received in the ER, 2400 floor and the ICU wing of 2700, where she took her last breath. We would also like to thank all her amazing friends and family for checking on her throughout her short illness. The family would like to thank Grace Baptist Church and Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell and Tetrick Funeral Home of Johnson City.
