Basil Johnson

Basil David Johnson age 80 of Washburn, TN was born June 25, 1932 and passed away December 10, 2012. He was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church since November 8, 1947. He drove a school bus for the Grainger County School System for 20 years and enjoyed farming. He was preceded in death by his parents Austin and Docia Mae (McCollough) Johnson and brothers Oral Barton Johnson and Dallas Eddie Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Alice (Ritter) Johnson

Son: Curtis (Kim) Johnson

Daughter: Cynthia (Rickey) Coffey all of Washburn, TN

Grandchildren: Randy Johnson and Jessica (Ashton) Gray both of Washburn, TN

Great Grandchildren: Austin, Colton and Emma

Brother: Robert (Sarah) Johnson of Bean Station

Sister: Tracy (Wilburn) Hayes of Washburn.

And a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. Wednesday at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M. Wednesday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Roberts Cemetery.
