Carolyn Ann (Buchanan) Ferguson Jennings

Carolyn Ann Buchanan Ferguson Jennings, age 82 of Tazewell, TN, passed away at her home on November 17, 2025. She was born on August 17, 1943, in Claiborne County to the late Arch Jr. and Myrtle Essary Buchanan.

Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrogate at the time of her passing. She grew up learning her Christian values as her parents took her to Union Chapel Church. After marrying Ralph Ferguson, she continued her faith and became a member at Mayes Chapel Church where they raised their only son.

Carolyn was very career oriented, working in several jobs from insurance, furniture sales, and county government, retiring at 62. She also loved being at her home on the family farm. She loved growing a garden and sharing with friends and family. She also enjoyed her flowers.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Ralph Ferguson; second husband, Edgar Ray Jennings; as well as aunts, uncles, several other relatives and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her only child, Scott Ferguson and stepdaughter, Rebecca Mantooth (husband Mark), and step grandchildren, Sara, Laura and Michael.

Carolyn will lie in state on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 3:30 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell. Graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Fairview Cemetery in Tazewell with Rev. Bill Duncan officiating.
