Chester Wayne Long

Chester Wayne Long, age 84, of Tazewell, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Chester was born July 7, 1937. Chester was saved at a young age and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and loved to go camping. He was proud to have been a paratrooper in the United States Army. Chester retired from KUB as a foreman after twenty years. Chester was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Grace Long, sister Leota Marshall, and brother Charlie Long.

Chester is survived by his wife of 63 years Sadie Long. Son Dennis Long. Three grandchildren. Brothers Tip (Relda) Long, Estle (Alice) Long, and Gary (Gail) Long. Sisters JoAnn Smith, Lula Mae (O'Neil) Hopkins, Opal Ferguson, Nellie (Ken) Cinnamon, Carolyn Mullins, and Jane (Roger) Shockley. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Thursday December 16, 2021 at Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel and burial to follow in the Caves Springs Cemetery.
