Alright I had to get a new page, lets get back on the field trip stuff with dayton, at the soldiers memorial i only went to summer school for 2 weeks back in 2008, but let me talk about field trip with dayton, in Claiborne County. Tennessee. Right now, anyway one time misty dawn laprade, drove me in the purple north america fall 1993 ford thunderbird luxury cross, from Claiborne county, 168 adams lane, tazewell, tennessee, 37879, left at 6 30 am, and met dayton parkey, at knoxville zoo, in knox County, tennessee back in second half week summer school 2008, and dayton, was with bonnie Sue hurley, Jeff Scott dalton, Holly Lynn cheek, Lisa Whitaker, lynn barnard, Vivian barnard, peggy ruth and neal jefferson meyers, couldn't come to knox County, tennessee, at that field trip summer school soldiers memorial in Claiborne county, tennessee, that time a 2 week summer school 2008, cause it hurts peggy ruth and neal jefferson meyers, coming from, Claiborne County, tennessee to knox County, tennessee knoxville zoo, that really hurts peggy ruth and neal jefferson meyers, I shouldn't said, think, talk, know about that in the memorial, but anyway, and also I used to go see dayton once again at midway elementary clouds road, in Claiborne County, tennessee, after I got off from soldiers memorial, in Claiborne County, tennessee 2008-2011, and matthew never stitch, and Keri butcher, used to help dayton, they went with each other from soldiers memorial in Claiborne county, tennessee, to midway elementary in Claiborne county, tennessee, 2008-2011, and I'm going to make dayton, bonnie Sue hurley, Joan brewer, James hopper, earl yeary, neal jefferson meyers proud for me to go to midway elementary school games in Claiborne county, tennessee, for the rest of the school year and forever, cause I did like them at soldiers memorial in Claiborne county, tennessee from 2008-2011, or 2012, too, I got all of this memory now

As I did enjoy having him, over at Soldiers Memorial in Claiborne county, 1509 legion street, tazewell, tennessee, 37879, I enjoyed him when I used to wear a suit and dress shoes, with colored socks from 11-2010-winter 2-2011, in the winter time, for one school year,  when dayton did all of the ties in the morning winter 11-2010-winter 2-2011, when I wore a suit with dress shoes, and colored socks, with peggy ruth and neal jefferson meyers, as teaching assistant at soldiers memorial, in Claiborne County, 1509 legion street, tazewell, tennessee, 37879, and I went to basketball games with Mr dayton, after school at soldiers memorial in Claiborne county, 1509 legion street, tazewell, tennessee, 37879, from 2008-2011, when he worked with Joan brewer, Vicki Evans, Lynn barnard, Lisa dawn Jessie, Deborah brooks, David Wyatt, as secretaries, assistant principal, and regular principal, and bookkeeper, with faculty, staff tammy McDaniel, lisa cosby, Sumpter, Vivian barnard, billy Johnson. Trina carol coots, Holly Suzanne McDaniel, Sue Evans, Lana Marie feltner, leigh Ann McAfee, Melissa edwards, Nora love, Melinda turner, Steve jenkins, perry session, Mary Golden jenkins, Stephanie Watson, Lisa Whitaker, misty Ferguson,  tammy Ferguson, tammy Bledsoe, Wilma hensley, Mary hensley, Ann Messer, Deborah brogan, annette overton, Natasha nunn, lynn hill,, Steve and Tina Louise brown,  james hopper, at Claiborne county, tennessee midway elementary, and soldiers memorial from 2008-2011, and one time for a week first on summer school, 2008, in Claiborne County, tennessee, field trip, on the bus, with dayton plus Mrs Lisa Whitaker, I went on a field trip with Mrs peggy Ruth and neal Jefferson meyers, and Holly Lynn cheek, at hillcrest lane, harrogate Park, I Claiborne county, tennessee for one week at summer school 2008, at soldiers memorial field trip in Claiborne county, tennessee, and the knoxville zoo, I'm almost out of room, let me go on to the next page, 

I know it's very belated but I just found out about  Mr Parkeys passing not too long ago. He was a really great teacher and person. When I was in his class, I was a very shy and insecure person. I was unsure about answers I gave in class or anything going on in my life at that time...He got me off to the side in class to tell me that I was smart and he knew that I knew the answers. He also detected my insecurities. He said all I need to do is have confidence in myself and stop second,third, or forth guessing myself. I listened to him somewhat...As I got older his words kept ringing in my ears...Those words come to mind now when I'm trying to make any variety of decisions. I hated hearing his passing and at a young age...I wonder how many other students or people in general did he mentor...I thank God that he was my teacher...God bless his family for the good person he was and always will be in the eyes of the people he has had positive guidance....

I attended grade school with Dayton & his Mother, Cotton, babysat me & my sisters Cindy & Kitty when my parents John & Cordelia were away. I cheered Dayton & the other ballplayers on as a cheerleader & was saddened to see Dayton had passed so young. He was only 5 days older than me. I was pleased to see he led a full & successful life but not surprised. I knew even when we were 11, 12 & 13 that he would go on to do great things. I was so sad when my Father told us we had to move away in the spring of 1974. He worked in the local RV company  & I guess rv's weren't big sellers then. We ended up in California & I love it here but miss Tennessee very much. We lived on a small farm outside of town on top of a hill with 2 horses & it was beautiful! I hope to get back there one day for a visit.

everyday I miss my dad, I wish he was here with me . he will always be remembered and loved...forever and always

My wife asked me if I wanted to write something when this site first came open. I told her no. I was not ready, I didn't know what to write, I just didn't know what to say. I still do not know what to say. I just know I miss my partner in the mornings at school.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to each of you.  We will greatly miss Mr. Parkey.  He had a special God given talent that shown through him with his teaching of kind, encouraging and positive words he spoke to the children, parents and anyone who knew him.  Thanks to him for being such a good teacher to our son Brandon.

"Heaven's Hellos echo our good-byes."   Happy First Day in Heaven Dayton.  You shall always remain in my memory, an amazing man. I was very fortunate to know you as a young man, watched as you became a new father ( a most protective one), and  then later  a coworker across the hall.  I shall always recall how funny you were when we shared bus duty and break together.  You always had a way with children, especially those who seemed to be the "underdogs" and seemed to serve effortlessly as an advocate for those who  struggled with life's difficulties. We could always depend on you to somehow bring a smile to those of us when down.    Dayton, I will not say good-bye but will look for you among the Brothers and Sisters in Heaven I expect to see when I get there. Until then, let me say you will be missed dearest Brother friend.and I will asked God to watch over your family in your Earthly absence, especially your daughters, as the  Eternal Father.

This has so hurt my heart! Dayton and I spent all day Friday, October 10th working across from each other. We laughed and talked about how much our kids were improving and what we were going to do after fall break. The comment that stands out the most was "All that our kids need is some attention, a little love and encouragement, and we got this."  I'm so glad that I had the gift of knowing such a wonderful person, coworker, and someone that was a true friend. Yes, Dayton Parkey is number 1 as my grand baby Haliey says.

I am so sorry to hear of Dayton's passing.  I considered Dayton a great friend and mentor.  I will always have fond memories of playing basketball with him and admiring his tenacity and drive.  His presence will be missed beyond measure.  My prayers go out to the entire Parkey Family at this time of loss.  God Bless and keep you all in his watchful care.

Sorry to hear about Dayton.  He will truly be missed.  I enjoyed the years that I worked with him at SMMS.  He was helpful in many ways.  A special man.  May God be with you and give you comfort and peace.

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

 Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
 Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
 That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
 God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

 It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

 God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not  be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dayton's family and friends. May fond memories and cherished love help you find your way through the grief. Dayton was truly a wonderful person, educator, and coach.  I feel honored to have known him.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Dayton. As a player at Horace Maynard H.S., we faced Tazewell many times in basketball(1975-79). Tazewell, of course was led by legendary Coach Carl Green n they almost always won 30 or more games each season. Upton,England,Goins,Shipley and Williams were all fine players but Dayton was tops in my mind. He would get a steal out of that 1-3-1 zone and go dunk on the other end. Nobody else in this area could do that. What a player! I never got to know him personally, but I admired his playing and coaching ability. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Mr. Parkey was a great man I have never seen him without a smile on his face every morning he would say hey girl and smile he will be dearly missed.

So sorry for the loss of this great man, he touched many lives and was an inspiring teacher.Prayers for the family....

We started school together, we played together, we laughed, we struggled, we won, you, me and lee, we were best together, I still cherish every moment. We were friends, teammates, and colleagues. Rest well my friend, I will miss you. 31- 4. The best.

I hated to hear the news of Coach Parkey's passing.  He was loved by everyone who knew him....he always had a smile on his face.  My girls will truly miss him.  Prayers for the family.

From hiding your paddle to save Dean's life when you took him to the office to being a true mentor and friend, your impact on me and my son will last a lifetime. I had the honor of attending Mr. Parkey's summer basketball camps for several years even though I always cheered and never played basketball.  "Good Hustle Carter" And from the sidelines, I stood in awe of the way teenagers responded to his coaching.  The kids in this community will never have that chance.

Coach Parkey was a great teacher.  He cared about his students and wanted them to succeed.  I was fortunate to have had him as a fifth and eighth grade teacher and as a coach. Coach Parkey was absolutely my role model. Hearing about this broke my heart. I remember when I went to basketball camp he pushed me to do better even though I was horrible. Dayton Parkey was one in a million He was a friend to our children , a mentor, and just someone special to everyone he came in contact with. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. It seemed so unreal. All through school parkey was always the one I'd talk to when I had a problem. No matter what he was always there to listen. Always calling me little bit and trying to make sure I did the best at everything. He was an amazing man! And I will always remember him as just that. Heaven sure picked one of the best angels to take home. I know he's up there enjoying himself and smiling like he always did! You will be missed!
