Edward Gibson

Edward was saved at a young age and was a proud Christian until his passing. When he was younger Edward was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. After his retirement he could be found working in his garden, working on lawn mowers or other small engines, he also collected many knives throughout his life. More than anything though he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. With visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren bringing him immeasurable joy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ira and Susie Gibson. Son Gale Gibson. Brothers Ewing Gibson, Wayne Gibson, and Lyle Gibson. Sisters Rose Jones, Dinah Purkey, and Argel Hopkins. Granddaughter Whitney Norman. Great granddaughter Caroline Ramsey.

Edward is survived by his wife of 73 years Ressie Gibson. Children Wanda (Edward) Owenby, Phyllis (Steve) Norman, Hershel Gibson, Charlotte Ramsey, and Lisa (Allen) Underwood. Grandchildren Arthur Ramsey, Rocky Norman II, Derek McGinnis, and Rachel Norman. As well as a host of great grandchildren he loved dearly. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday November 18, 2025 at 2 PM in the Gollahon Cemetery in Sneedville, with Phillip Mullins presiding.
