

He was a member of Tazewell United Methodist Church.
He was a longtime businessman in Tazewell and served his community as councilman and mayor of the City of Tazewell for several years. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Ed was an avid fisherman and liked hunting Indian artifacts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Hall Hardin; parents, Edward J. Hardin, Jr. and Mattie Jennings Hardin; grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Hardin; son-in-law, Rick DeBusk.
He is survived by his:

Jeffrey H. Hardin and wife, Donna
Daughter: Jane DeBusk
Grandchildren: Sara (Adam) Payne, Edward J. (Kristen) Hardin, V, Michelle (Chris) McNally, Hannah and Riley DeBusk
Great Grandchildren: Andrew, Daniel and Cathryn McNally, Peyton Payne, and Beau Hardin
Brother: Hugh Hardin
Sister: Polly McCollough
Sister-in-law: Peggy Stanifer
Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Special caregivers: Regina Buis, Inez Davis, Debbie Fanney and Bruce Bunch
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with memorial service to follow at 7:00PM.
