Florance Helen Brooks

Florence Helen Tweed Brooks, age 81, born Dec. 11, 1930, left this world for her heavenly home July 20, 2012. Helen was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Born I Greeneville, TN, she moved to Middlesboro, Ky. in the early 50’s, then moved to Tazewell, Tn. in the early 90’s where she remained until her death.

She worked as a CNA at Britthaven Nursing Home in Ferndale, Ky. until she retired in the early 90’s. On March 6, 1985 she was commissioned as Kentucky Colonel by Governor Martha Layne Collins. She was a member of the Bell County Chapter of the Republican Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Tweed, Sr. and Gertha Payne Tweed; brothers, Bill Tweed and Henry Tweed, Jr. all of Greeneville, Tn.; son, Harold Fuson Chadwell of San Antonio, TX. and son-in-law, Ralph Whitaker of London, Ky.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia and Bill Hood of Corbin, Ky., Pamela Lyann and Mike Bussell of Tazewell, Tn.; sons, Wayne Chadwell of Tazewell, TN and Larry and Claudia Marlene Brooks of Speedwell, TN; Grandchildren, Michelle Bussell Cowan of Tazewell, Tn., Matthew Chadwell of Tazewell, TN, Trey Chadwell of Pineville, Ky., Faith Chadwell of Tazewell, Tn. and Jordan and Jayden Brooks of Speedwell, Tn.; great grandchildren, Makayla “Katie” Cowan and Tristin Cowan of Tazewell, TN; special friends and pastor, Rev. Bill Duncan of Tazewell.
