

Irene was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Irene retired from Claiborne County Nursing Home after 18 ½ years and Cunningham Drug Store after 3 years. Irene was a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. Hooper and Crettie Minton Hooper; sisters and brothers-in-law: Geneva and Everett Stokes, Velma and Hillard Moyers, Vinie and Lawrence Duncan, and Healine and Willard Moyers; brothers and sisters-in-law: Elbert and Della Hooper, Leotha Hooper, Walter and Fate Hooper; niece Sue Miller and nephew Ralph Keck.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 P.M. Friday August 19, 2016 at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 20. 2016 in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Collins Cemetery at Pleasant Point.
