Michael was a long-time member of law enforcement. He started his career working for the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office and worked his way up to Sergeant at the LaFollette Police Department. One of his favorite hobbies was playing D&D, he also enjoyed game nights with family. Michael was a history buff; he enjoyed both watching documentaries and reading about history.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Ruby Gibson; paternal grandparents, William E. Satkowski, Margarite Satkowski; uncles Edward Satkowski, James M. Gibson; and cousin Laura Ellison.
Michael is survived by his mother Judy Gibson. Children Kelli Meradith Rutherford, Kayla Makinsey Satkowski, and Gavin Michael Satkowski. Siblings Julie Ann Runions and Nicole Lynn Lawson. Father William Michael Satkowski. Nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday October 27, 2024 from 4 until 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday October 28, 2024 at 10 AM in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel . A graveside service will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
