Opal Cline

(1922-2017)

Opal Treece Cardwell Cline, age 94, of Tazewell, TN, passed away May 29, 2017, at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1922, to the late Hubert and Nora Wilcox Treece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rome Cardwell, and husband, Alonzo Cline; a sister, Jean Billingsley, and a brother, Earl Treece. Survivors include daughters, Judy Moyers (HT) of Knoxville, TN, and Rita Greene (Mike) of Charlotte, NC; a son, Ron Cardwell (Becky) of Hendersonville, TN; stepchildren, Stanley Cline (Phyllis) of Knoxville, TN, Ralph Cline (Mary) of Knoxville, TN, and the late Doris Hickman (Frank); 5 grandchildren, Greg Moyers, Becky Moyers, Travis Cardwell, Logan Cardwell, and Paul Greene ; 5 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren.

She was a member of Tazewell United Methodist Church, and a fifty year member of the Tazewell Eastern Star #232. She was also commissioned by the Governor of Kentucky as a Kentucky Colonel for outstanding service.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Coffey Funeral Home with the Eastern Star Service at 4:00 officiated by the members of Tazewell Eastern Star #232, Funeral service will follow officiated by the Rev. Dennis Fox. Burial will be immediately following at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Moyers, Becky Moyers, Travis Cardwell, Logan Cardwell, Paul Greene, and Garrett Moyers. Singers will be Rusty and Althea Hardin and Janice Derryberry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tazewell United Methodist Church, PO Box #65, Tazewell, TN. 37879. Coffey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
