Thomas Ross Minton, best known as Tommy, born August 10, 1952 to Tom and Joan Minton in Knoxville, TN. The second oldest of 4 children, he grew up in Tazewell, TN, graduating from Claiborne County High School in 1970. He joined the United States Air Force in 1971 which led him to his life long career as a phlebotomist spanning several decades before retirement. For those who knew Tommy as a friend or co-worker they would probably tell you he was one of a kind. I don’t think he ever had an enemy, he seemed to be loved by all who played and worked with him. As most of us do he had his life struggles, but he loved life and his family. He loved strumming on that old guitar. Most importantly he loved Jesus and would be the first to say “I am His number one Fan”. He is now walking with his Hero and those who went on before him, smiling with that gap toothed smile.
Tommy was preceded in death by his Daughter, Courtney Brooke, Father and Mother, Tom and Joan, Brother, Dickie Runions, Brother-in-law, DW “Don” George and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He is survived by his four children Ryen (Courtney), Tyler (Ashley), Zoe and Mya. Grandchildren Ash, Connor and Ewan. Sisters Sarah George and Joanna (James) England. Aunt Nancy Hight. Sisters-in-law Betty Runions and Denise Runions, Niece Angie Runions, Jeff Stephenson, Nephew Tim (Kim) Runions along with Great Niece and Nephew and Cousins.
Tommy we each have our own beliefs, but the end result should be the same. For you our brother, we believe you went “Jamming through those Pearly Gates”, with the eternal life of joy we can never comprehend until we share in that experience. We will see you soon. In the meantime, your memorial will be in our hearts… we love you.
John 16:20;22 “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.”
