

With heavy hearts we announce the death of Witold Marion Oczko of Tazewell, Tennessee, who passed away on April 10, 2025 at the age of 66. He was born in Lubczow, Poland to Marian and Stefania (Kisiel) Oczko and immigrated to the United States with his family when he was two years old.
As a child, living in Elmira, NY, Vito was a Boy Scout and continued on as an Eagle Scout. He attended Parochial schools and served as an altar boy at St. Casimir's Church until he was in high school. He danced in the Tatra Polish Dance Group that was affiliated with the White Eagles Club. After high school, Vito joined and served in the United States Marine Corps and went on to graduate from Corning Community College. He worked for many years as a Field Service Engineer with Universal Instruments and then continued his work in the electrical field with the Walsh Brothers, after moving to the Binghamton, NY area, installing security systems at numerous correctional facilities. While not at work, he enjoyed being a member of the Polish Arts Club and the Elk's Club. Above all else, Vito loved and enjoyed spending time with his wife and children.
In his spare time, Vito enjoyed hunting on his property, fishing, gardening, bbq grilling for his family, watching Law and Order, and playing Free Cell. Vito was a kind and gentle soul who was liked and loved by all those who met him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, which was exemplified by his final act of being an organ donor.
Vito is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sabina Jane; daughter and son-in-law, Allison Marie Oczko and Samuel Macklin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; son, Christopher Joseph of Tazewell, Tennessee; brother, Mark Oczko of Elmira, New York; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as relatives still in Poland. He was predeceased by his parents, Marian and Stefania Oczko; sister, Ewa Longwell; and brother, Christopher Oczko.
A Funeral Mass for Vito will be held at Christ the King Church on Bluetop Rd, in Tazewell, TN, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.
