Artist Alice Shaber lit up a room with her shock of white hair, pixie fashion style, and wicked humor. She loved her grandchildren, all animals, tennis, a good wine, and some progressive politics, and she never forgot a birthday. She and her late husband, screenwriter David Shaber, lived happily in apartment 5L of the historic El Dorado for decades, and cherished their community of artists, writers, actors, and musicians. Alice is survived by her two daughters, dancer Remy Shaber of NYC and musician/writer Samantha Shaber of LA, and her three grandchildren, David and Josephine Zaragoza and Darwyn Strayton-Shaber. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the ASPCA. Memorial service Sunday, June 12, 2pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel on West 76th St.
