Barbara, known for her warm, generous nature and strength of character, lived a full life as a wife, mother and physician. She and Sam maintained a second home in Washington, DC for almost 20 years until his death in 2000. They had been married for 52 years. As an internist, Barbara practiced in a few institutional settings before working for many years at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company at their (former) headquarters in southern Manhattan, from which she retired in 1984. She is survived by her daughter Victoria.
