To those who knew her best, Cuquin was deeply beloved—someone whose presence brought comfort without fanfare, and whose compassion was felt in the everyday ways that matter most. Her kind-hearted spirit showed itself in how she held space for others, offering steadiness, warmth, and care.
Cuquin was the daughter of Mireya (Nee Jimenez) and Demetrio Walters, and the sister of Lucrecia Jimenez De Tejeda. She was also a devoted mother to Carmen L. Walters, Josephine Walters, Susana Walters, Manuel Esteves, Jose Esteves, and Angels Walters ( Predeceased).
She worked as a seamstress, a calling that suited her gentle patience and generous nature—hands that could mend and make, and a heart that did the same in its own way. The quiet dignity of her work reflected the tenderness she brought into the world.
Visitation will be held at Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128, US, on May 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
