Catherine Tarkas

Catherine Tarkas, New York, NY, entered into eternal life on March 8, 2021 at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with cancer. Hers was a life well lived. Catherine, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Vassiliki Tarkas, was born and raised in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. She attended NYC public schools and earned her bachelor’s degree from Pace University while working full time and caring for her family. After a rewarding career in real estate management, Catherine spent her retirement years traveling and enjoying time with her family.

She touched so many lives with her kindness, generosity and gentle spirit. She was the beloved sister and best friend of Marie Dendrinos, New York, NY and the late John Tarkas. Catherine was the adored and cherished aunt of Kim (Russell) Noncarrow and beloved great aunt of Alex and Katie of Allendale, NJ. Catherine is survived by many near and dear friends. She was an angel on earth to all those fortunate to have known her. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New York, NY at 11:30 on Friday, March 12th. Graveside services will be private due to COVID 19. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 337 E. 74th Street, New York, NY 10021 or St. Michael's Home, 3 Lehman Terrace, Yonkers NY 10705.
