Irma will be forever missed by her husband of 44 years, Arthur Roitstein; her children Adriana (Josh) Lebowitz and Jared Roitstein; her grandchildren Logan, Wyatt, and Ruby Lebowitz; her siblings Paul Vega and Aileen Ruiz; and by many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother James Vega, her mother Aida Perez, and her father Pablo Vega.
Born on June 8, 1951 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, Irma moved to New York in 1954. There, she later received a Master's degree in Bilingual Education from Teacher's College, Columbia University. She also worked for the Department of Education as a remedial reading and mathematics teacher trainer in other schools.
Irma's warmth and compassion knew no bounds. She treasured every moment with her family.
