Isabel Caba

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away on November 4th 2023. She is survived by her daughter Mayra Elizo-Johnson, Son in Law, Walter L. Johnson. Grandmother to Rose Taise Laboy and Walter A. Johnson. Great Grandmother to Mayalee Laboy-Pesante. Cherished niece, Mercedes Bernal and her children Edwin Bernal, Moise Bernal.

She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A Woman of strong faith and Family values. As the matriarch of her family she took her strength, enormous love for her children and her courage and migrated to the United States in search of a better life. Our beloved Isabel dedicated her life to helping others pursue the same goal. She took her love of caring for others and became a home attendant, where she retired after working more than 30 years. This is where she found her true joy. In addition, many of her hobbies included, gardening, growing plants and flowers, and spreading them inside and outside her home.

The Family would like to thank Martha Ricci, Marie Hilas and Jeanne Rosefort for their exceptional care, compassion and love for our beloved Mami.

A visitation for Isabel will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128.
