I was saddened to hear of Jeffrey’s passing recently from good friend Chipp Adams. While it’s been a couple of decades since we crossed paths at various Maccabi Games in the 80’s and 90’s, I’ve never forgotten the warm embrace that he and Donna provided to Lynda and I during those wonderful weeks together.  Rubes we were from the midwest trying to make our way through the east coast squash world, hopefully on our way to Israel.  

When I heard the news I immediately went to the old photos hoping to find something that might provide a memory of Jeffrey and I to share.  While I will continue to look, I did find this wonderful photo from the 1985 Maccabi Games with Jeffrey, Steve Green, Gene Perle and one other member of that Masters Squash team.  I think that smile of his tells it all.

Dear Donna, Daniel, Rachel, and the entire family,

I am heartbroken to hear of Jeffrey's passing and want to extend my deepest sympathies to all of you. Jeffrey's profound love and unwavering devotion to his family were indeed the essence of his being. The world has lost a remarkable leader and philanthropist, an exceptional athlete, and a true Mensch.

I still vividly remember meeting Jeffrey while climbing Masada during the Maccabi Games. Since then, whether we were catching up socially or sharing a game of squash, his vibrant spirit and kind-hearted nature were always present. The positive impacts of his hard work, leadership, caring, and generosity have been nothing short of inspirational.

All who knew him will deeply feel Jeffrey's absence. May his memory forever be a blessing and continue to inspire us all.

Sadly I just heard of Jeffrey's passing in the last few hours I stayed in touch with him on a regular basis. ..he was a true friend and one of the finest people I have ever known.
Jeffrey excelled  at almost. everything that he undertook.He rarely talked of his many accomplishments .He saved his enthusiastic stories when speaking of his family.He loved and was truly devoted to all of. you.
I will miss the conversations with my wonderful friend..When one has extreme confidence that someone will  be there to back them  up no matter the circumstances  we refer to them as our foxhole  friends.Jeffrey was surly one of those .I will miss him

My deepest condolences to Donna, Daniel & Rachel as well as the entire family as Jeff deeply loved, and was devoted to, his family and they meant everything to him. I have lost a great friend, role model and mentor. The world has lost a great leader, philanthropist, athlete and Mensch. Cornell Squash has lost its biggest supporter and fan. I will miss our squash games at the Harmonie Club & the University Club, always followed by a delightful lunch. I treasured Jeff's advice,  intelligence, guidance and wisdom which he always shared generously . We even had a great time playing doubles together in a loaded tennis tournament a few years ago even though we were by far the oldest team. Maccabi USA, StreetSquash and all of the charities that Jeff was deeply involved with prospered due to his hard work, leadership, caring and generosity. I will miss him greatly. May Jeff's memory always be for a blessing...
