John (Giovanni) Passoni, age 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was born January 3, 1926, in Sesto Calende, Italy to Ettore and Genoveffa (Monciardini) Passoni. He immigrated to the United States in 1946. He met his wife Dolores (Monteverde) Passoni in 1948 and they were married in 1952. John was a bartender until the age of 87, working most recently at Lusardi’s in New York City and previously at Giambelli’s and Monsignore. John loved to hold court at the bar and also enjoyed playing tennis until the age of 89. He is survived by his wife Dolores and two daughters, Michelle Romanenko and Susan Passoni, granddaughter Julie Rose Bulfair, son-in-law Malcolm McDonald and his many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Italy. Family, friends and others whose lives John touched are invited to the Frank Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue, New York, NY from 2-5pm and 7-9pm on Saturday, March 2, 2008 and 10am-1pm on Sunday, March 3.
