This saddens me greatly. I only found out a few days ago from an ex-coworker at Parks, where I worked under Joe and Tarice Harris for over five years. Put simply, Joe is almost singlehandedly responsible for where I am in my career today. 

One day not long after I started in the division, I noticed a coworker doing laborious data entry in one of those gigantic red ledger books that accountants used decades ago. He said this particular workflow was a big part of his job. Took hours every week.

When I went to Joe and asked if he knew how we handled this particular thing, he said he did not. When I told him, his response was basically "oh my god, we can't keep doing this". Joe gave me total freedom to teach myself database design and programming, and out of it came a database to replace this antiquated hand written data entry - the very first database that I ever designed.

I probably built a dozen such databases over the course of the subsequent years, and Joe was supportive of it all, every step of the way. Eventually I left to go to the Department of Education, to pursue other opportunities in data. Today I am a data engineer with a major financial firm. I can trace this back directly to the autonomy that Joe gave me back in 2007 to learn and grow.

When I did an end to end hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2015, I was hoping to catch up with Joe and his family in Great Barrington. This did not pan out, but I definitely thought of him as I went through.

Rest in peace Joe, I'll never forget what you did for me.

Mr. Tremble was a pure asset to the NYC Parks Department. He was Mr. Customer Service- the right way. He ALWAYS Went above and beyond for  ANYONE's needs. Gone way too soon. The Parks Department is LOST without Mr. Tremble. Rest in Peace.💚🙏💝

Joe and his family were a massive part of my life for a beautiful season. Even in the years since I last saw them, I always smiled at watching their family prosper and succeed together. 

He always had patience, kindness, a wicked sense of humor, and a willingness to help. It made him a wonderful brother, a devoted husband, and a perfect girl-dad.  

The world is full of unfairness, but this feels supremely unfair.

I am heartbroken to hear of Joe's passing and offer my deepest condolences to his friends and family. He was very kind and outgoing from cheering on fellow runners at the Corporate Challenges to sending a quick follow up email just to wish you felt better after sending in your Covid test results. This was very comforting during the height of pandemic and Joe was a genuine helper to turn to as a Parkie. He will be greatly missed.

I met Joe early on in my Parks career but really got to know him during the dark days of the pandemic and talking to him almost on a daily basis.

Joe was not only a colleague but I considered him a friend both at and outside work. We always talked about visiting amusement parks together with our families as he knew that I loved playing carnival games. He was so proud of the Superman that he won at Six Flags.

Still completely saddened and shocked to hear this news. RIP Joe.

Joe has assisted me and my husband in your scary time with the covid and eased me, with assuring  my health and protecting others with the rules of Covid. Also checking in to make sure we was OK. Which his kind words or reassuring us surprised me, How friendly and caring he was. Not that he wasn't, it was that it was a very busy season with covid and he took the time to speak. It is sad to lose someone like him. Rest in peace, Joe. May the Lord protect and take care of your family as you did mine.

This photo is from 2009, at my farewell from NYC Parks after 14 years. In the last few years before I moved on, we shifted from colleagues to friends and after my departure we kept in touch / hung out every so often. Even though we eventually lost touch, I still think of him often, and continue to admire how he could make people laugh, and the seemingly effortless way he made things fun. I'm grateful to have known him.

Oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear this. I worked with Joe occasionally on union business and I know he was kind, patient and all of the wonderful things people are saying. He was much too young. I remember meeting you at a meeting at OLR and thinking what a nice couple the two of you must be.

Joe was truly one of a kind. Always with a smile and words of encouragement. I was lucky to have known him while working at Parks. He will be missed by everyone. May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the family.

I have worked under Joe for 15 years. He was the epitome of an amazing boss! He always had an open door policy and definitely I used it! Not only was he fair and understanding, he showed empathy and reason.  I have used his example as a manger in my own businessness as he has set the standard in my life. 
Joe actually cared. Not only did he understood that we are all not perfect and had an enormous amount of patience. He also was hilarious and had a fun personality that we all enjoyed.

The Trimbles have always been an inspiration to me when it comes to parenting.  They traveled all over the world seeking fun and adventure by any means.   A lot of that seemed to come from Joe's thirst for life.  He always had a great idea on how to make a situation even better and more fun, no matter what.  I have tried to emulate that drive to have fun with my own kids and I am forever grateful.   

Eva, Joe and the girls always welcomed us into their home and together we made some amazing memories...  the multiple thanksgivings, new years eve parties, the bat mitzvahs, our trip to Puerto Rico .  While I will miss Joe terribly I am lucky to have known him and will attempt to be the most fun dad to my kids as he was to his.   Love

Joe wore many hats and meant so much to different people on a large scale. Always willing to crack a joke during an awkward silence or bring up his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.  Thank you for being thoughtful, kind, and human/humble during the times we were all going through a rough patch. Didnt mind listening and agree to disagree. My condolences to the family and pray you all find the strength to get through this loss.
