final days by her children, Andrea Kramer (Ted) and Larry Salans, her grandchildren, Zoey Juliano (Mike), Mia and Nina Salans, and Ethan Kramer, and sister-in-law Diane Kramer. Born in Chicago, Lois attended Senn High School and graduated with degrees in English from Northwestern University and a MFA from Dartmouth College. Lois worked in education and later was active for many years as a volunteer for JDRF, New York City, founding and editing their newsletter and serving on their Board. She had many passions, among them travel, nature, skiing, yoga, bridge, music and the arts, the daily crossword puzzle, gifts she shared with children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed photography, composing albums of her journeys and later embracing digital photography, lovingly sharing her skillful creations with family and friends. Lois’ many friends knew her as intelligent, caring, and supportive, with a wonderful sense of humor. She was the light of Lester’s life, as they shared many wonderful years together as soulmates traveling the world. Though Lois died on the cusp of Spring, her favorite season, her memories will endure as we make the lazy turn around the Central Park Sailboat Pond, watching the arrival of the new ducklings, which she loved so much, as life begins anew. Lois is also survived by brother Robert Kapp and sister-in-law Edith Salans.
