July 25, 1940 – March 27, 2026
Margery Healy was born in Holyoke, MA on July 25, 1940, to Henry and Agnes Healy. She was the second of four children – Moira, Margery, Eileen and Andrew. She had many adventures with her friends in her hometown that informed her future interests. Her college years took her to Mount St. Vincent, in Bronx, NY. It was there she realized her love of city life. Upon graduating, she moved to Greenwich Village where she started a career in social work. She was immersed and enamored with the creative scene of the 60’s in the city. It was there she met her first husband, Warren Miller, and had her two children, Anna and Daniel. As a full-time Mom she formed close friendships with other Moms in Washington Square Park playground.
In the late 70s, as her marriage ended and her children became more independent, she opened a new fulfilling chapter as a teacher at Pelletier HS and Foundling Hospital. Her students were her other children and she often referred to them as “my kids”. She also immersed herself in her passion for jazz music. And in December 1984 she met her soulmate and partner in music, Robey Norton. The two of them spent the next 40 years sharing a love of family, music, travel and New York City.
