Marilyn Penn

Marilyn Penn, a warm, lovingand compassionate wife of Arthur S. Penn for 62 years, passed away on July 20, 2025. Her life of 84 years was filled with affection and self confidence. She was the mother of Matthew, Zachary and Allison and drew great sustenance from her five grandchildren. She was a New Yorker from birth and a full participant in the cultural life of the City. A graduate of CCNY

with. an M.A. in English from NYU she became an accomplished essayist and advocate for her passions. She taught in New York City schools until her first child was born and soon became an editor in the field of photography books. Marilyn remained active in the pursuit of equality and fairness in the political arena and was a guide for the N.A.S. for many years. Her friends and her husband and children loved her and she reciprocated. She will be sorely missed. Services at "The Riverside" at West 76th Street and Amsterdam Ave.

Following the funeral service, a graveside service will take place at Temple Israel Cemetery, situated at 388 Saw Mill River Rd, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, 10706, United States. This service will be held on July 23, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
