He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Shannon-Davis and brothers Dennis, Kenneth, and Timothy.
Martin's entire 40 year career was with NY Telephone Co (Verizon) and served over the years as a steward, chief steward, and business agent for CWA 1101.
It is impossible to capture in a few words the unique way Martin made everyone feel loved and special.
Visitation will be held at Frank E. Campbell - Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue (corner 81st), NYC on Friday, August 23 from 4pm to 8pm.
There will be a funeral mass Saturday, August 24th at 10am at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 230 East 90th Street, NYC.
