
Lane (Arguello) Michael Edwin. In his native Manhattan in his 79th year, of complications from ALS. (a childhood friend remarked on the irony of his getting a disease linked forever to his beloved Yankees) Survived by his treasured partner and spouse of over 4 decades, Walter J. Wade III, by his nieces Dr. Tessa-Kate Solomon-Lane (Sean Lough) and Maya Jo Solomon-Lane (Anneliese Solomon-Lane) and by their Mother, Dr. Laura J. Solomon. Predeceased by his mother, Maria Arguello Solorzano, by his sister, Victoria Margarita Lane and by his second family, the Tamburos. He leaves behind much loved family and friends. He graduated from Blair Academy and received B.A.s in History and in Spanish from Franklin & Marshall College. He also received NDFL awards to study Intensive Portuguese at UT/Austin and for graduate work at Tulane University. He began his 48-year career in the municipal bond market in 1971 at Kohlmeyer & Co. in New Orleans, moved back to NYC to work at L.F. Rothschild where he was made a partner, ended his career with 19 happy years at Citi, as a Director in their Municipal Securities Division. He enjoyed life, loved to laugh with his friends and was grateful for and amazed by his longevity. He loved the opera (over 1800 performances) and his favorite singer, Birgit Nilsson, his “shared” golden retriever, Lucy, TAB and Dewars, the Babe and Mickey, Arnie and Jack, Martina and Bjorn, Casablanca and the two Godfather movies, and he felt truly blessed by Walter, family and friends. A Mass celebrating his life will be held at The Church of St. Thomas More, 65 E. 89th Street on To Be Determined He will join his Joseph at The Gate of Heaven in Valhalla.
