Mildred W. Simmons passed away on June 15, 2013. Devoted wife of the late Alphonzo B. Simmons. Beloved mother of Alphonzo, Jr., Leslye, Michel and adopted son, Edward Day. Dear sister of Jessie Brown and sister-in-law of George Brown. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Brunson. Cherished grandmother of Kelli Day. She is also survived by her nephew Dwayne Kelly and his wife, Gerri, as well as a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 3 PM to 9 PM at the Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:15 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 312 East 110th Street, New York, NY 10029. Burial will take place at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, New York.
