Miriam Forman (1936-2025) was a clinical psychologist who was active for years in the NY Freudian Society. She obtained her Ph.D. while raising three sons as a single mother, maintained a private practice and treated medical students at her alma mater Columbia University.
An amateur pianist, she loved classical music and performed at Kinhaven. Born to Yiddish writer/educator Solomon Simon and Lena Simon, she was a proud secular Jew and an avid Yiddish reader and speaker.
Mimi delighted in and was devoted to her family, which includes three sons, three daughters-in-law, four step-children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves her beloved husband of 25 years, John Koller, and many dear friends.
A funeral for Miriam will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128.
