Neil Brody was born in Brooklyn to Ann and Willie Brody. He was always proud to share his experiences of growing up with his family, especially stories that included his younger sister Helene.
He loved to tell a story and reminisce with his fellow Brooklynites. He attended Brooklyn Law school and after law school he began a successful career as an attorney as well as a lifetime of philanthropy. He funded a scholarship in his father’s name, The William Brody Scholarship and donated to many charities and organizations in his adult life. Neil was instrumental in the development of the New York City Young Peoples Chorus and always showed support as it grew in success. He was also president of the board of his condo and helped bring the 2nd Avenue subway their way. He practiced law for five decades and had a stellar career of wins for his clients. Most important to Neil was the love and devotion he had for his family and friends, especially his beloved wife Nanci and his son Matthew. He treasured them so. His love never waivered despite personal hardships.
He will be forever missed but never forgotten. Neil is survived by his wife, Nanci; son, Matthew; daughter-in-law, Jamie; sister, Helene; brother-in-law, Larry; niece, Alison (Ari); nephew, Jason (Stacey)and grand nieces and nephew Abby, Livy, Cami, and Wyatt.
