Dear Noriko Sengoku San

Thank you for nearly 40 years of long friendship.
You gave a call me last June. And we talked a lot about Broadway theatre and Metropolitan opera.
I am sorry that we will not be able to fulfill our promise to go to the MET together during the upcoming opera season.
I am saddened by the many memories of our time and scenes together.

I miss you.
Please rest in peace.

Every time I visited New York, I enjoyed talking with Sengoku-san. She was really generous and taught me a lot about plays and musicals.
I will always cherish the wonderful memories of Sengoku-san.



One day at Paper Mill Playhouse.  We saw " The Hunchback of Notre Dame".  

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Noriko.
Words cannot even begin to express my sorrow.
I will say, though, she will always be in my heart.
I will always cherish the memories I am privileged to have of her.
She is my mentor always, and I spent a wonderful time with her talking plays, musicals and operas. She was the first person I interviewed. I wish I could have interviewed them and known about her experience in the theatrical world.

Noriko.  Oh Noriko.  You laughed and made me feel comfortable in the world of producing work from Japan in New York. My first boss at a show at Lincoln center in 1980. I have so many memories of you at shows and meetings and dinners and tea. Smart and always sharp conversations about performance. And life choices.  Sending love and condolences to all the enormous extended family that were touched by you. Forever in our hearts. May your memory be a blessing.  

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Ms. Noriko Sengoku.  To this day, the many stories that Noriko shared with us about the early days of Shiki Theatre Company have a special place in our hearts.  We extend our deepest condolences to her loved ones, and hope that she will continue to watch over us from heaven.
