Peter H. Arnold

Peter Arnold, 87, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 6, 1938, in Stuttgart, Germany, Peter made his home in the United States beginning in 1965, where he built a life filled with creativity, friendship, and generosity.

An avid outdoorsman, gifted photographer, and passionate international traveler, Peter found beauty everywhere—from remote landscapes to the faces of those he met along the way. He was especially known for his warm hospitality, often opening his apartment to friends traveling from near and far, a gesture that reflected his enduring kindness and deep loyalty.

Peter was the founder and owner of Peter Arnold Inc., a distinguished photography agency that represented the works of many renowned photographers, bringing their art to the world stage.

He was also a proud member of various US Alpine Clubs, the German Alpine Club (Deutscher Alpenverein,) as well as The Appalachian Mountain Club. As a devoted mountaineer and skier, Peter was a wonderful rock climbing and skiing partner to countless friends around the world.

Peter leaves behind a lasting legacy of integrity, compassion, and connection. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he enriched and in the art he championed.
