I will miss our long talks in the tool car and dinner. The whole crew of the 261 steam locomotive loved you as a brother. I always looked foward to having you ride the cab with me and always laughed to myself as you asked to blow the whistle. The smile on your face when you pulled the cord and heard how the whistle sounded will be the way I will always remember you. Thank you for your kindness to Ryan and Michele. Thank you for your support of the 261 and railroading all over the country. Thank you for the conversation. And thank you for being a friend. Thank you for bringing Randi. We will miss you. Next time I am in the cab listen for the whistle tribute the 261 will blow for you, ON TIME BOB.

Randi and family,
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I knew him for many years and saw first hand his love of trains. He came to Minneapolis each year to ride his beloved steam locomotives and I was fortunate enough to go on a couple of those trips with "On Time Bob." He had a great sense of humor and always made me laugh. I wish he could have had one more train trip.
Cheers to you "On Time Bob" you will be greatly missed.

When I was a paralegal at WP in the 90s, “Kornreich” as we called him, always made me laugh! He was one of the gang and yet, the leader of the pack.
Since then I have bumped into Kornreich and Randi over the years on the UES and it was always so much fun laughing with them on the street corner. He will be missed!
