On behalf of Bob’s many friends, who became his family over the years, we know what we have lost! For me, who knew Bob for 40 years,  the shock and sadness will linger. However, there are good memories that will be with me, too.  A good example of one is Bob’s comedic genius—and not only in improv. One day last fall, I arrived home from work and found a box of business cards sent from Bob—nothing to do with my social work job. The cards displayed my name and address and said “property management.” Though Bob knew I had no plans  to change my fulltime profession, he was responding in a humorous way to my complaints about having to be a part-time property manager who must deal with an ongoing parade of repairs for a 100 -year-old family home.  It was hilarious! I will cherish this special box of business cards!

Remembering Bob means remembering a man whose presence could light up an entire room. Bob had the biggest heart and the biggest smile I have ever seen — the kind of smile that made you feel instantly welcomed, instantly at ease. He carried joy with him everywhere he went, and he shared it freely.
Bob loved life. He embraced it with curiosity, warmth, and a genuine appreciation for the simple things that make days meaningful. He could talk about food and music for hours — and somehow, every conversation felt fun, lively, and full of laughter. Whether he was recommending a dish, reminiscing about a favorite song, or swapping stories during a volunteer shift, he made every moment feel special.
Volunteering wasn’t just something Bob did; it was part of who he was. He showed up with enthusiasm, compassion, and a spirit of service that inspired everyone around him. Every project, every Sunday, every gathering was brighter because he was there — cracking jokes, lifting spirits, and reminding us what community truly looks like.
What stays with us most is the way Bob made people feel. He brought excitement, warmth, and a sense of togetherness to every conversation and every task. His legacy is one of kindness, joy, and a love for life that touched countless hearts.
Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created — the laughter, the stories, the music, the shared meals, the unforgettable smile — will continue to shine.
May his memory always be a blessing.

Rest in peace, Bob.  We will always remember you at the Coalition.  Your booming laugh...your knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, New York City...your love of people, whether our clients on the streets or your co-volunteers...all of these qualities will linger long in our collective memory. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Bob’s passing.  He was such a positive individual, always spreading light and love in everything he did. I remember the great times we had running downtown for dumplings at lunchtime while working together in Manhattan. We’ve lost a good man, the world could certainly use more folks like Bob. 😢

I’m heartbroken to hear about Bob’s passing. I got the privilege of meeting him at Boyce Technologies and he was truly one of a kind. Bob was a kind hardworking man who brought so much life into every room he walked into. He was always happy, always loud and always laughing, especially at his own jokes which somehow made them even better.
Every morning without fail he’d stop by the soldering room with that big smile and deep loud voice asking, “Where’s the doggy?” And whenever I brought Bella in the two of them would have their own little barking competition. it never got old and always made everyone around laugh.
Bob had a way of making ordinary days brighter just by being himself. He will be deeply missed and will always be remembered for the joy and energy he brought into every one’s lives.

My condolences to our EEBCS BOB.  HIS voice will be missed..  When you get in heaven show them the love you gave us.  If they have anything to put in the deep dark hole up there remind them to do so. Lol

Bob was a real-life George Bailey from “It’s a Wondeful Life.”  He did not have  family, but he had multitudes of friends of all ages who adored him. He had a booming laugh and an ever-present smile. He was interested in every person he met, even for just a minute, and engaged them in conversation because of his genuine love of people. 

When he wasn't working, he spent much of his free time helping the homeless and those trying to overcome drug addiction.  In his spare hours, he loved going to the movies and having a meal afterwards with friends. When I met Bob a few years ago, I was so thrilled because we talked restaurants and movies.  Bob would say to his movie companions: “Pick something. I don’t care what it is. Let’s just see a movie!”

I know Bob is now sitting in a cinema, with one clean snack and one not-so-healthy snack. The movie starts and Bob is happy. Then something makes him laugh his Big Bob Laugh. Those around him smile.

I met Bob just once but it’s impossible to forget him. As a first time volunteer on his New York Cares project, Bob made an impression even before I’d met him. His warm and thoughtful text and then a special pen that he kindly handed out to me with a big smile and a note of thanks. This team leader was unlike any other.

While I wish I had the chance to know Bob better, my life is enriched in more ways than one because we crossed paths on Sep 7, 2025.

Bob and I worked together at JPMorgan Chase for many years. He was a man of integrity, intelligence, and dedication—always hardworking, yet also someone who brought warmth and joy to those around him.

Hearing the news of his passing from our dear friend Dennis was deeply saddening for us.

May God Almighty keep him under His care. He remained a devoted and hardworking man until the very end.

I extend my heartfelt wishes of patience and strength to his family and friends during this difficult time.

I met Bob through coalition for the homeless, where he brought the best energy to every Sunday evening shift. I already miss being on the Bronx van hearing about his favorite bands (Devo among them) and sharing his favorite restaurants around the city — he once spent 15 minutes singing the praises of the doubles sandwiches at Trinciti.  I did not know him for a long time, but for the few months I did, I knew him for his big laugh, his warmth, and his sense of adventure. 

In Bob’s memory I have a lot of restaurants on Google Maps to visit - rest in peace.

Bob was an absolute JOY on the coalition for the homeless team. From giving out pens with his name on them, to remembering all the new volunteers’ names, to his hilarious jokes, he made everyone’s days brighter. Even when it was snowing and no one wanted to volunteer. Words can’t express the loss that we have just experienced, and I will remember Bob’s kindness and joy always. We miss you already Bob.
