Sunil Thomas of New York, NY passed away in the peace of his home on January 20,2022. He was under the loving care of his son Nihal at the time of his passing. A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology and with an MBA from MIT, Sunil had a successful career encompassing engineering, banking, and entrepreneurial ventures. His investment portfolio was his crowning achievement.
He will be remembered for many things by different people. His perceptiveness and keen eye with which he observed the world and people was a talent that never aged and many have absorbed his knowledge and judgement. Most importantly were the values with which he lived by - from his generosity, compassion, empathy, authenticity, to his kind hearted nature. A genuine soul, Sunil touched many lives whether it was showing others the world, helping his community, the indigent, or random acts of kindness. His unparalleled sense of empathy and sensitivity made him beloved by those that knew him. Helping people brought Sunil the most joy.
