I’m so sorry Susan. You were such a beautiful bright light.I just found out. ❤️💔❤️  My boys didn’t know until I told them today. So young…so beautiful. I’m so sad that this world has to go on without you… you were a force… 💕

I called Susan the Sigourney Weaver of the upper east side.   I think Sigourney actually lives in UES, but most days Susan out sigourneyed  Sigourney. She was a friend, someone I admired and trusted.  She would sweep into meetings wearing a chic scarf and an above the fray demeanor that made everyone pause.   

I feel like it was just yesterday, when she called me crying, after she rushed our friend, her mentor and boss, Marc Katz,  to the hospital, where he  passed, as suddenly and sadly as she has.   I was fortunate to have met her boys,who were  her pride and joy.  My heart breaks for them and for all of us, who will no longer see her light in person, but only in our fondest memories.  

I am so sorry to hear this very sad and surprising news.   I met Susan  3 years ago, and we became fast friends, taking long walks in Central Park to escape our apartments during the early Covid days.... she was a very kind and upbeat person who had a big smile and even bigger heart.    I visited her in Sag Harbor several times and she was always up for anything and everything -- very accommodating as a selfless and consummate host.       
     
I will miss her bright smile and warm demeanor.

I met Susan when she was the residence director at my dorm in my senior year (Chapin House, Smith College).  Her energy was infectious, and she brought a positive attitude with her everywhere.  My sincere condolences to Susan’s family and close friends.

I met Susan (through a mutual, dear friend) at a summer party out in Southampton over 25 years ago. The picture above is a beach in Sag Harbor (a few blocks from Susan’s house) where we spent a glorious summer afternoon about eight years ago.

When I first saw Susan, I was struck by her beauty.  She was so tall, slim and statuesque.  But I quickly realized this was a woman of substantial character — so down-to-earth (in spite of her exceptional beauty and brains).  Authentic! Always kind.  Always patient. 

My heart breaks for her sons.  Her smile was at its most vibrant when she spoke of them.  My hope is that they’ve thoroughly taken in her high regard, respect and love for them, and that it helps them stand tall. 

Susan- your brought such wonderful energy to those around you.  I consider myself doubly blessed to have been your roommate twice - at Smith and NYC.  The things we did together from being platinum customers of Shun Lee to triathalons, 10ks on shelter island, to Southampton beach house time!  Having children around the same time. 
Michael and Will you are too young to lose your mother.  I am always here for you to share stories and  be there for you however I can help.  She was a sister to me.  You are each on my prayers for peace and healing. 
Susan’s siblings - it is much too early for you also to lose your sister.   My prayers to you all for your great loss! 

Susan lit up every room she was in. 
She visited us in Edinburgh and left a positive smile with everyone she saw here. It was the same when we visited her in NYC. She was my favourite client to work with. She made a professional relationship so much fun and everyone here loved working with her.

I first met Susan 10 years ago when my firm started working for NY City Teachers-she quickly became one of my favorite clients and a good friend. I loved her confident Manhattanite persona-you always knew where she stood. Business meetings with Susan were fun, but she also knew her stuff and would ask the right questions. Over the occasional dinner, she loved to talk about her sons, filling us in on the latest happenings from Boston and Texas. I shared the news of her passing with some of my colleagues who also knew her-each one had a fond anecdote to share. She will be greatly missed.



Susan was a fellow “Tylerite” at Smith College. I have never known anyone with such a big smile. She would light up any room she walked into! I went through my photos  to find a favorite one of Susan. This was taken in the late 90’s in my UWS apartment. A party. She was luminescent. Her smile, her presence, her animation, her booming voice and  her stomping walk. She was absolutely beautiful. 

Dear Will and Michael and family
We were so saddened to hear of your Moms passing….I met her when she walked into my store on Jobs Lane when you were babies, one of you in a stroller.  We became friends over our mutual love of fashion.  Over the years she kept me posted on you both and how you were growing and what you were doing….you were her proudest achievements. When I sold her your house in BayPoint she wanted to be sure you had your own space, thus Kevin transformed the garage to your man cave.  I will miss her, her smile, her laughter, our shared stories. We are so sorry we won’t be able to attend her funeral, but we are thinking of you both.  Please let us know if you need anything or any help. Kevin left his card at Windermere.
