Thomas Bachert

February 3, 1934 - July 2, 2018.

Tom was born in NYC, grew up in Woodmere, Long island and graduated from Columbia College in NYC. He was the founder of Coast to Coast Contract Carpet Corporation which he operated until his death. He resided in New York City, Ft. Montgomery, NY and the Thousand Islands, NY. He was born to Helen F. Weisman and Alex F Bachert. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Joanna Allman Bachert, brother-in- law, Joe V Allman, his sister, Barbara Silver, niece, Valerie Gold, her children, Alex and Zoie, and loving cousins Ira Haupt, Ann Sauberman, Hal Silverman and their families. Tom was a fun loving and gregarious man who had many interests including Native American culture and was a collector of NW Coast art. He was an esteemed member of the Explorers Club. Favorite explorations included Baffin Island, Labrador and the Yukon. Tom loved most of all being with his friends and swapping stories. He will be missed by so many.
