Victor Falcon, born on March 1, 1933, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, to Juan and Maria Falcon (nee Reyes), peacefully passed away on June 5, 2024, in New York, NY, with his loving daughter by his side. He was 91 years old.
Victor was a man of remarkable character and unwavering commitment, dedicated to his family, his country, and his community. He was predeceased less than four months ago by his beloved wife Marcia, whom he cherished for many years.
A devoted father, Victor leaves behind his daughter Maria Lancaster, who was the apple of his eye. He was a loving and proud grandfather, finding immense joy in the time spent with his grandchildren - Jaren, Marla and Samantha.
Victor served his country with honor and distinction, proudly wearing the uniform of the United States as a veteran. His service was a testament to his patriotism and selflessness.
Throughout his life, Victor worked diligently as a building maintenance worker, ensuring the safety and comfort of those around him. His strong work ethic and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and neighbors alike.
In addition to his dedication to family and country, Victor was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. He found immense joy in cheering them on through victories and defeats ( mostly victories!). He and his son-in-law, Larry shared together a deep-rooted bond of America's Pastime.
Beyond his professional endeavors and love for baseball, Victor was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, such as when his sister-in-law Rosa Elena was studying from abroad. He had a rich friendship with his brother-in-law Ricardo and wife, Hilda, that spanned the decades. Also, in his final years, his nephew Ricky and great-niece, Christina, themselves lent a helping hand to Victor, along with longtime assistant and friend Eshoo Basdeo. He is also survived by sisters Sabina and Frances.
Victor's legacy of service, love, and integrity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. While he may no longer be with us, his memory will continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come.
A funeral service for Victor will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus and St. Gregory the Great Parish, 207 W 96th St, New York, NY 10025.
