

Agnes, also known as Boen Mu Lan, was born on October 5, 1935 in Jakarta, Indonesia, to Boen Fon Kie (Wen Sze Han) and Chia Mi Hian. She had four loving siblings Boen Khie Tjan, Boen Khie Yen, Boen Fei Lan, and Boen Chin Lan. She loved and cared for all of her siblings. As she grew up, she learned Mandarin and Dutch at her primary and secondary school. Then, she met her late husband, Lee Koen Seng, in Bogor who she loved dearly.
After a few years in Indonesia as a married couple, Agnes and her husband moved to the U.S. with the support of her brother, and stayed in New York. After a few years in New York, Agnes and her husband moved to Los Angeles, CA. She worked as a Production Pattern Maker for many years until she retired. Agnes had passion in the fashion industry. She loved sewing and was often seen to be making clothing or do alterations for her friends and family. In addition to sewing, Agnes also loved cooking. She utilized her gift of sewing and cooking and shared it with others. She never stopped sharing what she held dearly in her heart. Many were loved by Agnes.
Agnes also enjoyed traveling. Together with her husband Agnes traveled to many countries as well as to almost all states in the US.
One of many commendable qualities that Agnes had was how much she loved the Lord. She praised God wherever she went. She shared her testimony to anyone she met. She sang worship songs at family BBQs. She lived out the love she had for God, and it was very visible. When she moved to Los Angeles, she found the First Indonesian Baptist Church. She visited the church since 1978 until her last days. There was no denying of how much Agnes loved God. Due to her strong faith, Agnes could be seen to be joyous, positive, generous, strong willed, fearless, and loving. She was also a very independent woman. She lived life to the fullest and had touched many lives around her.
Agnes Lee will be missed a lot by her family, relatives and friends.
