Becky Hamblin

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Santa Clarita, CA

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Eternal Valley with Pastor Nate Perkins of Covenant Baptist Church SCV officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood, CA.

Becky was born in Berlin, Wisconsin to David and Betty Van Voorhees on February 22, 1949. She spent her early years in Redgranite, WI before the family moved to Glendale, CA in 1960. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1967 where she was in the marching band and marched in the 1967 Rose Parade.

She married Lawrence “Larry” Hamblin in Glendale on April 15, 1972.

She worked at Glendale Federal Credit Union before the Lord blessed her and Larry with children and she became a homemaker. As her boys were growing up, Becky was a regular volunteer in their classrooms at Village Christian Schools and volunteered in the school cafeteria. She was also the boys’ biggest fan in their many athletic and school events. When the boys were older, Becky became a travel agent at Glendale Travel with her best friend Martha Lamb and then later worked at Montrose Travel where she told everyone about her boys and grandkids.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents David and Betty Van Voorhees.

Becky is survived by her husband Larry, sons Patrick (Christina), Douglas (Erin), and Clint (Kara), sister Debby and brothers David and Greg (Dru), Grandchildren Carson, Abigail, and Jackson (Patrick), McKenzie, Logan, Grayson, Hudson, Irelynn, Adelynn, Ruston, Holden (Douglas), Easton, Rhett, and Finley (Clint). Becky loved telling everyone stories about her 14 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) which provides “mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.”
