Bob and Barbara Biers were married 75 years before passing. Bob, age 95, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 and Barbara, age 92, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She said her heart was broken.
Bob and Barbara married when she was 16 and he 20. Shortly after they married, he went off to war and served with General MacArthur in the signal core during WWII. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Waiting for him at home was Barbara and his first child, Bette, who was born after he left to serve his country. After returning from the war, he worked for IBM as a computer engineer until his retirement in 1992. Barbara worked in the garment industry as an engineer until her retirement a few years after his.
Bob and Barbara are survived by their three children, Bette Biers, Barry Biers and wife Diana, Bonnie Biers Krall, eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
They were only apart for five days and will now spend eternity together.
