Carl Raymond Daniels Sr. was born in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Samuel and Ethel Daniels on March 13, 1955. He attended Lillie B. Williamson High School, where his journey of faith, creativity, and service took root. In 1973, shortly after graduating, Carl moved to Los Angeles, California, eager to pursue new opportunities and begin building the life he envisioned.
At just 16 years old, Carl met Cella—the young woman who would become his lifelong partner. Their love story began in youth and blossomed into a deep, enduring bond. They married on July 1, 1974, in their hometown of Mobile, Alabama, and shortly after, relocated to California to begin their life together.
In California, Carl and Cella became active members of Bethany Baptist Church of West Los Angeles. Carl pursued theological studies and later served as a faculty member at Christian Bible College, sharing his passion for God’s Word. He also embraced his artistic side, studying acting at Los Angeles Community College and MGM Studios—earning roles in several television shows and films.
Carl and Cella welcomed their first child, Carl Raymond Daniels II, in 1976. Then, in 1990, fourteen years later, they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Alexandria Nicole Daniels. All the while, Carl remained devoted to his family, working as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Westwood, California—a position he held with pride and dedication for 31 years before retiring in 2014.
Beyond his postal service, Carl continued to nurture his passions. He worked as a talent manager with Daniels Entertainment Group and served as a faculty evangelist at Santa Clarita Christian Fellowship. Whether in ministry, entertainment, or service, Carl poured his heart into everything he did and uplifted those around him.
Carl R. Daniels Sr. went to be with the Lord peacefully on March 24, 2025. He is survived by his son, Carl Raymond Daniels II, his daughter, Alexandria Nicole Daniels; his daughter-in-law (Raymond’s wife), Jacquynn Daniels, and his cherished grandchildren, Alana Daniels and Christopher Daniels. He is also survived by his siblings William Daniels, Juliette Warren, and Mack Daniels, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Carl will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the deep love he had for his family. His life was a testimony of dedication, compassion, and grace. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
