Born September 4, 1981 in Burbank, California to David and Maggie Eilers, he passed away September 12, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, due to Melanoma. Chris was a graduate of Lancaster High School and attended William Penn University on a baseball scholarship. He was an LAPD Police Officer and had a compassionate spirit with a soul of gold. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; his mother and father; his brother, Michael (Jennifer) Eilers; and his nephew and nieces, Joey, Angela and Emily Eilers. "Chris, you were always there for anyone that needed your help. Your passion and zest for life were amazing. In you brief time here, you did so much more than many people will ever do because you never took a single moment for granted. You clearly knew that life was a gift to be valued every day. Your sense of humor brought laughter and smiles to so many which seemed to remind them to keep things simple. The kindness and forgiveness you gave to those who hurt you was something many could learn from. Your work ethic was second to none and you loved your job because once again you could "Serve and Protect". The world was a better place with you in it. We will miss you immensely. Chris, you are now with our Lord in Heaven. The place where putts always roll in, where every pitch is sweet, and you can't lose when you let it ride on 11. Chris, we love you more than you could know and in our hearts you will always remain forever young" Services will be held September 22, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Hills, 19700 Rinaldi St., Porter Ranch, CA 91326.
