Dolores was born on November 20, 1932 in Visalia, CA to Felipe De La Cruz and Rafaela Perez. She was the 3rd of six children; her siblings were Vito, Amelia, Mary, Maggie, and Ralph. On May 17, 1949, Dolores married Manuel De La Rosa in Bakersfield, CA. Together, Manuel and Dolores had three children, John, Rebecca, and Diane De La Rosa. They raised their family in the city of Burbank, CA. Dolores worked for Lockheed Martin for 30 years, where she retired as a supervisor over staff who built fighter jets, such as B52 Bombers. Dolores was essentially an engineer, only without the education. It was at Lockheed Martin that Dolores met her second husband, Rudolfo Garcia.
She was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, having studied as a Witness for over 60 years. Dolores was a fashionista; she was always well dressed and groomed. She was proud of the home she kept and loved to cook for anyone around. She was an avid aerobics instructor, well into her 50’s. She loved to do crossword puzzles, sew, knit, and crochet. Most of all Dolores loved her family. She is survived by her sister, Maggie, and brother, Ralph; her daughters Rebecca and Diane; her grandchildren Michelle Boles, Alisha Gloria, Christina Gietz, John De La Rosa, David Montanez, Julie Carreon, and Samuel Montanez; and her great-grandchildren Brandy Flores, Damien Flores, Savannah Flores, Evan Montanez, and Benjamin Montanez. She is predeceased in death by her son, John De La Rosa, and her second husband, Rudolfo Garcia.
