Dorothy Finlay

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Deborah Finlay, her grandchildren Branden and Breanne Anderson, her great grandson Brandt, and her brothers Fred and Stan Beeston. She is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Finlay.

Dorothy lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 40 years and worked as a bookkeeper for various local employers including Newhall Land and Farming Co, Castaic Union School District, and Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Family was very important to Dorothy; she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved music, and provided many years of church service as a pianist, choir member, and choir director. At the age of 79, she served a mission in Montreal, Canada, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed watching sports, particularly baseball, baking and eating sweets, knitting, and going to the beach. Dorothy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 6th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 24443 McBean Pkwy, Valencia, CA.
