Frank J. Pettinato, of Valencia, California passed away on Friday, April 26, at the age of 80.

A memorial service for Frank will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. (A reception will follow from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM; please RSVP via text or message to 310-893-4251)

Frank was a 40-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, retiring in 2007 and continuing on for 17 additional years as a Reserve Officer. In 2021, he was the recipient of The Purple Heart, one of LAPD’s highest honors for his bravery under fire. His fellow officers & civilian co-workers loved and respected him as the go-to man for making things happen, always with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. As much as he was dedicated to the Los Angeles Police Department, his heart was truly devoted to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dara; son, Michael Pettinato (LAPD Det. II); daughter-in-law, Sarah; son, James Mohan; grandchildren, Tori Zemp, Jackson & Elizabeth Pettinato, Ollie Karrigan; brother Robert Pettinato.
