

Gary and his wife, Rhonda, met in 1976 and were married February 14, 1987, and to the day of his passing Gary would tell Rhonda “Did I tell you I love you today, because if I didn’t, I love you.” Every day of Gary’s life he had a smile and would complement anyone he would meet. He was passionate about helping others, and loved family, friends and his many cherished animals. In his younger years, he loved surfing, playing basketball, football, track and field, and racquetball. He was an avid sports fan, particularly the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gary worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years and retired in 2016. and will be missed by his many co-workers and friends.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda; his mother Tillie; mother-in-law Tona Bronder; brother Matthew; sons: Richard (Danielle Lynn) and Gary (Danielle Kristine); grandchildren: Brandon, D.J., Peyton, Noelani, Justin, Michael and Dominic, brother-in-law Gary (Pam) Bergantino; sister-in-laws: Paula Pimentel, Crystal (Ernest) Govea, Jean (Mike) Andrews and Tonia Zinninger. Gary was loved and will be missed by his nephew Matt Jr.; his nieces Laura B, Melissa, Jennifer, Laura M, Rochelle, Amy, Rani; and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Mariano “Tony” Pimentel, brothers Larry, Michael, Nicholas and his father-in-law William Bronder.
Viewing will be held 4-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17th at St. Clare Catholic Church, 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country, CA 91351. Graveside service will follow immediately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation may be made to Best Friends “No Kill” Animal Society at https://secure.bestfriends.org/page/contribute.
