The beautiful short life of Genesis Ruiz (7/3/1994 – 10/2/2023) was ambivalent. Genesis was the first born to Marcos and Lucia Ruiz on July 3, 1994. Throughout her life, she was described as quiet, timid, smiling, joyful, caring, and easy going. From an early age, she always enjoyed music and dancing. The love for music and dance always remained the same till her passing. Her genres of music would involve Cumbias to K-pop and everything in between like Disney soundtracks. Her love and enjoyment for Disney was an important part of life. Her and her two younger sisters even have matching Disney tattoos that represent their close relationship.
Those who knew Genesis, know her love for traveling. Whether it was to travel to a different state, Washington, with her best friend, around California to different campsite with the family or to travel to Jalisco, Mexico where she enjoyed her time the most and visited the Virgin Mary. She admired the culture, religion, food, her family heritage, and the animals. On her very first trip to Mexico our family notice a butterfly shape rash on her nose. After being evaluated from the medical office, they discovered she had Lupus, an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own self, at the age of 11. Genesis continued to have this battle with this condition up until her passing at age 29.
All the lives she entered, will continue to remember her as a great daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. She will always be in our hearts.
Genesis is survived by her parents Marcos and Lucia and her two sisters Tracy and Leslie.
