Jay Philip Price as born on August 20, 1931 in Anaheim, California, the son of Homer Bryan Price and Ruth Daniels. He was raised in Highland Park, California where he graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School.
After serving in the U.S. Nay he graduated from U.C.L.A with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He worked in Aerospace for 40 years, retiring from Northrop Grumman at the age of 69 in August, 2000.
Jay married Donna Erickson on June 8, 1963. They had two children, Carol Ann and Wayne, and were happily married, for 20 years, until Donna's untimely passing in 1983. Jay remarried, twelve years later on April 22, 1995, to Sheila Corbett, née Golodner.
Jay (Philip) is survived by, and fondly remembered and missed by his wife, Sheila; son, Wayne; granddaughters, Kayla Samson and Briana McDonald; as well as Sheila's children Kassondra Joy Coxson and Kristoffer Corbett; and grandchildren, Kyle, Camryn, and Allison Corbett; Gabriel Nethery; and Madeleine and Kensington Coxson.
He will be remembered as a really nice, genuine person whose passions were astronomy, photography, travel, astrophotography, opera, gardening, and feeding backyard birds and animals.
In his sunset years, he especially enjoyed reading his science magazines and watching PGA Tour Golf, tennis, gymnastics, MSNBC, and other television programs including Washington Week, This Week, Meet the Press, Dancing With The Stars, and The Voice.
A graveside service for Jay will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. And will be followed by a reception in the Monarch room.
