

Joe was born on August 4, 1935 in Halifax, North Carolina. He was the first born child to the late Flossie Mae Smith.
Joe dedicated his early years to the upbringing of his younger sisters and brothers. He eventually traveled through Maryland and Massachusetts before settling down in California. Joe had a passion for working on cars, so much so that he started “Joe’s Auto Wrecking”. He quickly became well known in Pacoima and surrounding areas. Everyone from the valley knew if your car needed a part, Joe was the man to call.
Joe is survived by his four sons; Kirk Arrington, Quintin Arrington,Edward Arrington and Henry Arrington; his daughter, Joelett Arrington; his sister, Susie Wiggins; his brother, David Arrington, Sr., a very special cousin who was more like a brother; Alex Wynn, as well as a grandson who was raised as a son,Donta Arrington and a numerous amount of grandchildren who knew him simply as “Granddaddy”.
He was preceded in death by his two daughters; Diana Garrett and Sabrina Arrington, his three sons; Joe Arrington Jr., Rickie Arrington and Michael Arrington, his two sisters; Almarine McCoy and Martha Porter, and his brother; Samuel Arrington.
Joe was the definition of a “Family Man”. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. Joe touched the lives of so many people with his unconditional love, generosity and kindness. He will be forever missed.
